Air Jordan 1 was released in 1985. The shoes got some instant popularity when the NBA banned them because they violated NBA color rules.

The Nike Air Jordan 1 was produced in retro version in 1994, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. The First retro version in 1994 did very poorly in sales. But since then, these shoes, which are sometimes referred to as OG Jordans, have been very popular among collectors. In total they were released in 23 different color-ways.

Ludacris released his major label debut, Back for the First Time, in October 2000. This album was actually a modified re-release of the album Incognegro, made in 1998. It was produced with the help of the underground producer Sessy Melia, whom he also dated for a short while. The album reached as high as #4 on the charts, and was a major success. As usual, the All Star Game brought a lot of great sneakers, the ones caught our eye the most were the Air Jordan XX3s. This Friday, Jordan Brand team member Terrell Owens took home the MVP from the McDonald’s NBA All-Star Celebrity Game wearing the “All Star” Air Jordan XX3 as he threw down 18 points including a slam dunk in his efforts for his team to win the game.



Game time came with Air Jordan team members lacing up for the big game in their signature shoes with Melo in the M4, Chris Paul in the CP3, and Ray Allen, Joe Johnson, and RIP Hamilton in the XX3. Ray Allen wore the Titanium Jordan XX3 while Joe and RIP sported some East team colorway exclusives. After halftime, and down 9 points, Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony ditched their signature shoes for some special West team colorway exclusives, though a hot look, not enough to overcome the deficit.

The reception of She's Gotta Have It led Lee down a second career avenue. Marketing executives from Nike offered Lee a job directing commercials for the company. They wanted to pair Lee's character from She's Gotta Have It, the Michael Jordan-loving Mars Blackmon, and Jordan himself in their marketing campaign for the Air Jordan line. Later, Lee would be a central figure in the controversy surrounding the inner-city rash of violence involving Air Jordans. Lee countered that instead of blaming manufacturers of apparel, "deal with the conditions that make a kid put so much importance on a pair of sneakers, a jacket and gold". Through the marketing wing of 40 Acres and a Mule, Lee has also directed commercials for Converse, Jaguar, Taco Bell and Ben & Jerry's.

Personally i have great interest in wrestling. However, a friend of mine who does watch wrestling filled me in on a little something that i found interesting. John Cena from the WWE, who apparently is the champion, has recently been seen sporting the Air Jordan 2009 in the ring.



In professional wrestling, Cena is a five time world champion having won the WWE Championship one time while on SmackDown and two times while on Raw and won the World Heavyweight Championship while on Raw. In addition to these championships, Cena has also won the WWE United States Championship three times and the World Tag Team Championship two times (once with Shawn Michaels and once with Batista). Cena has also won the 2008 Royal Rumble match.

Chris Pine (Captain James T. Kirk), was seen out in Los Angeles wearing a pair of these Air Jordan I Retro’s in Black and Red. Of course for those of you who saw Star Trek might have caught a familiar looking sneaker on the young James T. Kirk (not Pine), he wore a pair of Air Jordan XX3 in an early scene. Chris Pine who will also be featured in the new upcoming movie, Unstoppable, which features Lakers fan, Denzel Washington, has been seen wearing a number of different sneakers while out in LA, but this is the first time we’ve seen him in some heat. These Air Jordan I’s are one of the best ones to come from the Jordan Brand this year and they don’t look too bad on Chris Pine.

In 2004, he appeared in Why Germany?, a short film, and in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.
